A widespread argument across online forums claims that because Dragon Ball Super introduced a multiverse containing 12 distinct universes, CC Goku must be canon somewhere out there.
That theory misinterprets how Toriyama structured the cosmic map. The 12 universes in Dragon Ball Super are paired physical realms existing side by side in the same timeline. Universe 7 is paired with Universe 6; Universe 11 sits across from Universe 2. None of these alternate universes house duplicate versions of Goku or Earth history. Alternate timelines in canonical lore require a Time Ring, created exclusively when mortals alter history using time travel machines.
Super Dragon Ball Heroes builds its own external multiverse consisting of fractured game worlds, dark dimensions, and theoretical timelines. While Bandai Namco officially licenses this content, commercial ownership does not equal narrative canon. A product can be 100% legally authorized without sharing continuity with the original author's literary work.
