Fast food operations rely on uniformity and raw speed. Standard pepperoni application requires seconds; a cook scoops, scatters, and pushes the dough into the oven. Introducing specific designs disrupts that automated muscle memory.
Franchise operators spent the weeks leading up to the June rollout training line cooks on precise topping placement templates. An off-center cheese web or uneven pepperoni spacing turns a deliberate visual into a chaotic mess of baked cheese. Early feedback from franchise forums suggests stores are designating a single prep station exclusively for assembling Webberoni crusts during the 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM dinner rush to prevent bottlenecking standard round orders.
