While chest routing dictates where items go, the Monitoring Stand determines what Pals actually do. In early versions, this structure only dictated work pacing: Normal, Hard, or Cruel. The updated systems introduce an individual assignments interface that lets players toggle specific work types on or off for every resident Pal.
Multi-attribute Pals frequently bottleneck complex bases. Anubis features Level 4 Handiwork, Level 3 Mining, and Level 2 Transport. Left unchecked, Anubis prioritizes stone quarrying over manufacturing advanced ammunition. Opening the Monitoring Stand allows you to locate Anubis on the roster and manually click off both the pickaxe icon (Mining) and the box icon (Transport). Stripped of these tasks, Anubis registers only Handiwork orders. The Pal stands idle until an assembly line, crafting bench, or base construction project requires labor, instantly deploying maximum efficiency where players need it most.
This task blacklisting applies across the settlement:
Disable Transport on Pals with low movement speed, such as Digtoise, keeping them firmly anchored to mining fields. Similarly, strip Gathering and Deforesting from Pals like Bushi, forcing them to dedicate 100% of their operational cycles to Kindling forges and kitchens. Managing these base automation settings ends random task wandering across all production sectors.
