The structural nature of these digital attacks became undeniable just months later. In April 2025, fellow Pakistani TikTok creator Sajal Malik became the target of a comparable online leak campaign. Rather than treating the circulating files with skepticism, multiple domestic digital outlets published sensationalist headlines that presumed guilt, driving massive web traffic at the creator's expense.
Sajal Malik responded with public fury. As reported by Gulf News, the creator castigated digital publications for abandoning basic journalistic ethics, explaining that she was left "mentally haunted and falsely accused" by reports that failed to authenticate the material. The back-to-back controversies involving Minahil Malik and Sajal Malik demonstrated that sensationalism frequently overrides digital privacy safeguards in regional media ecosystems, leaving creators defenseless against coordinated smear efforts.
