Q1: Was there ever an unreleased Episode 9 for Stranger Things Season 5?
A1: No. The Duffer Brothers and Netflix confirmed that Episode 8 was the definitive final chapter of the flagship series. No bonus episodes, surprise installments, or unannounced epilogues were produced or scheduled.
Q2: Where did the name "Conformity Gate" come from?
A2: The name was coined by TikTok theorists who claimed the characters had "conformed" to a simulated, happy ending manufactured by Vecna or the Upside Down, arguing that an unreleased episode would reveal this illusion.
Q3: Did Netflix hint at a surprise release in its marketing?
A3: No. All official marketing, release schedules, and runtime announcements explicitly designated Episode 8 as the series finale. The rumor was fueled entirely by user-generated content and altered screenshots.
